Building our new stall

Progress on the stall has been erratic, but satisfying.  Over the last 10 days or so, it has taken shape.  Some of the equipment is bought new, other has been brought down from the Castle Market.  Most of it on the bus, some of it was carried or barrowed down.
There has been a counter to build,
shelves to put together, (and modify)
and signs to be written.
Now we are as ready as we can be for the big move on Saturday and Sunday.  Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday and later.

Inside the new market

Today, we were allowed inside the new Moor Market in order to take measurements and make observations.  Obviously, it is still a live building site, and full safety precautions were necessary.
You might recognise the workman in this picture, although you may not recognise the clothing.  Hard hat, high visibility clothing and steel toe wellingtons were mandatory, Susannah is more used to white coat, straw boater and apron!
We measure our stall carefully, so that we can calculate whether our furniture will fit, we also took a few pictures of the surroundings.   This was very useful in getting to know the site, and make our plans for November.

Afterwards, we discovered that Jonathan's trip might have been more comfortable if he had managed to pick up a pair of boots, instead of the two left ones he actually found!

The building is looking really good, and we are eagerly anticipating getting in to start the fitting-out process.

Viewing the new market

One evening last week we went down to the Moor to look at the new market building  Although conditions for photography were not ideal, we got a few pictures of the outside and inside of the new building.  The metallic cladding on the entrance looked really good when the lights were on it, and the design of the stalls could be seen through the doorway.

The Moor is also looking good as it is being refurbished.

We are looking forward to seeing you in the new market, stall 139, on 25th November.
